About Us
Fresno Area Pickleball is a 501c3
Fresno Area Pickleball is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of pickleball in the Fresno/Clovis area by creating and cultivating a welcoming environment that encourages healthy, social interaction, good sportsmanship, outdoor exercise, and FUN!
History
In 2021, a group of pickleball enthusiasts created a nonprofit organization and worked diligently to secure funding from City of Fresno Parks and Recreation to convert tennis courts in 3 city of Fresno parks into pickleball courts. Once the courts were ready for play, the organization began providing equipment to each of the venues and hosts to supervise play.
Today over 30 volunteer hosts coordinate to set up net systems on 20 courts in 3 different public parks, Vinland Park, Rotary East Park, and Orchid Park in Fresno, as well as at Panzak Park in Fowler. The hosts monitor and supervise play, help newcomers feel welcome, and communicate with the organization when equipment needs repairs or replacement.
All net systems and balls are provided, thanks to memberships and donations.
Beginner lessons are provided by volunteers with schedules found on the organization's website and social media platforms. You can find us on FaceBook at Fresno Area Pickleball Community and on Instagram.
The organization also pays for reservations during popular court times to ensure play is not interrupted by other sporting events
